Twelve years of building without decoration to hide behind.
Ambiant was founded on a simple premise borrowed from the original Bauhaus workshops: a building has to earn every line in it. We start every project by asking how someone will actually move through the space, where light needs to land, and what the site is already trying to do — before we ask what it should look like.
"The plan comes from the walk through it, not the elevation you'd hang on a wall."
That discipline shows up as honest material palettes, proportion sized to the human body rather than the render, and a refusal to specify anything — a moulding, a finish, a fixture — that doesn't also do a job.
Four ways we work with a site.
What we doArchitecture
New builds and additions, engineered from the site brief through construction documents — sized around how you'll actually use each room.
Interior Design
Interiors resolved down to the door handle — material, acoustics, and light treated as structural decisions, not finishing touches.
Urban Planning
Master plans and mixed-use blocks scoped around how a neighbourhood is actually lived in, not just how it's zoned.
Renovation & Restoration
Existing structures reworked for how people live now, without erasing the parts of the building that made it worth keeping.
A short list of the projects we'd walk you through in person.
